About the Project
On April 9, 2019, City Commission approved the adoption of the Warm Mineral Springs Park Master Plan. This plan includes a comprehensive analysis of the entire 81.6 acres and provides recommendations for future services and amenities. A large portion of the plan’s creation included community input through a series of stakeholder meetings, community engagement sessions, and public surveys.
On February 25, 2020, City Commission approved a contract amendment with Kimley-Horn & Associates for professional design and engineering services to include historic restoration of the existing nationally registered buildings, as well as utility infrastructure and parking lot improvements.
At the June 4, 2021 Special Commission Meeting, the City Commission provided direction to proceed with funding the construction of this initial phase of the Warm Mineral Springs Park Master Plan. It is anticipated that the Request for Bid for this initial construction phase will be released in Spring of 2022. After responses are evaluated, the lowest qualified responsible bid will be brought forward to Commission with a recommendation for award.

The Cyclorama
The sales building and spa – which had been joined by a pergola – are the main entry point to the springs. The cyclorama – essentially a circular exhibition hall with interior murals – is currently being renovated and is believed to be one of only three remaining in the United States.

Courtyard Plan
Warm Mineral Springs Park – As is it today!
Find that Old Florida Vibe
Step into the past at the only natural warm spring in Florida! With a consistent average temperature of 85 degrees year-round, Warm Mineral Springs Park provides visitors with a number of therapeutic and passive recreation options. The spring is rumored to have one of the highest mineral contents of any natural spring in the United States. With anaerobic and highly mineralized properties, internationally known for its purported healing qualities, the park attracts more than 130,000 visitors annually who journey to soak in its waters.
The springs and the buildings are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Evidence of prehistoric man, saber-toothed tigers and giant sloths have been discovered here, and date back more than 10,000 years! The buildings were built to celebrate Florida’s Quadricentennial and were designed by architect Jack West, one of the leaders of the Sarasota School of Architecture
At Warm Mineral Springs Park, you will find a day full of relaxation. A variety of spa services are available to those who book in advance by calling (941) 426-1692. An onsite gift shop offers sundry items and souvenirs for purchase.
